# Buildhound

> Buildhound turns the Macs and Linux machines a team already has (a spare Mac mini, a Linux box, or the laptop someone codes on) into clean, single-use GitHub Actions runners: every job runs in a fresh virtual machine that is destroyed when it ends, and the team's coding agent (Claude Code, Codex or Cursor) does the setup. It is built for teams on GitHub Actions whose agents push more than GitHub-hosted keeps up with: five hosted macOS jobs at a time, and included minutes that run out. Jobs go to your machines first and GitHub-hosted stays as the fallback: when a machine is busy or offline, new jobs route to the healthy side. Free for public repositories, priced per machine for private ones and counted only on days a machine runs a job, never per minute.

Buildhound is a product of https://buildhound.sh. Prices are in US dollars. Speed claims are measured against GitHub's standard hosted runners only. Failover means new jobs route to the healthy side when a machine is offline; jobs already queued are re-run, never moved.
